Opening of COVID-19 Control Room(s) / Monitoring
Cell(s) at Circle / Regional / Divisional level and posting of Designated
Officer(s) to look after the pros and cons of positive cases and expeditious
settlement of all death cases arising out of COVID-19 – Suggestions regarding
Respected Sir,
This is to bring your
kind notice that Odisha Circle Postal fraternity met the 6th
COVID-19 death case on 20.09.2020 with the sad demise of Krushna Chandra
Mallick, PA Balipatna SO under Bhubaneswar Division while under treatment in
KIMS COVID Hospital, Bhubaneswar. While the number of death cases is increasing
day by day, the number of positive cases is also increasing geometrically. You
might be aware the recently 25 positive cases were detected in a series only
Bhubaneswar GPO on 12.09.2020 and 15.09.2020.
But to our utter
dissatisfaction, not a single case out of the previous 5 death cases have been
settled till date specially in connection with payment of the 10 lakh financial
compensation. We are in dark if any kind of hurriedness is shown by the
administration so far in this regard since our letters on the said matter have
not yet been acknowledged.
In addition, as
reported to this Circle Union, the conditions of the officials tested with
COVID-19 positive are monitored neither by the State Govt as advertised nor by
our Circle / Regional / Divisional administration. Illustratively, we may
intimate that out of 25 positive cases found in Bhubaneswar GPO while not a
single official has yet been contacted by BMC on one hand, the administration
is also unaware of their health condition on the other. The officials are under
treatment / home isolation as per their convenience, which is very dangerous to
both them and their family members.
In this connection, we
would like to suggest the Circle administration for opening of COVID-19 Control Room(s) / Monitoring Cell(s) at Circle / Regional / Divisional
level and posting of Designated Officer(s)
to look after the pros and cons of all positive cases and to monitor expeditious
settlement of all death claim cases arising out of COVID-19.
At all it is already opened, its activities should not be
restricted to pass on the COVID-19 guidelines only to the grass root level but
to monitor the staff welfare properly with every seriousness. The life of every
individual employee is very precious during this pandemic situation rather than
achieving targets through continuous MAHALOGIN programmes.
We would like to appeal once again to stop the continuous
MAHALOGIN programmes and achievement of targets for 2020-21.
Hope,
our suggestions will be weighed properly giving a line of reply to the Union on
the nature of action taken.
With
regards.
Yours faithfully,
(Bruhaspati
Samal)
Circle Secretary
