Appeal to pursue the matter of sanitization of post offices situated in the lockdown / shutdown areas and containment zones with respective Divisional Heads

Dear Comrades,

This has a kind reference to this Circle Union letter No. No. P3NFPE-Odisha/04 - 04/2020, dated 08.04.2020 addressed to the Chief PMG, Odisha Circle on the above subject and  already forwarded to you through your given eMail Id and also posted in our Circle website and different WhatsApp groups.

Now the Circle Office vide its letter under reference has replied as follows.

“In acknowledging the receipt of your letter referred to above, I am directed to intimate that all the Divisional Heads in the Circle have been directed to take effective action for regular sanitization of PO/RMS Establishments in consultation with the State Administration. All concerned have also been instructed to provide the required safety gears to the front line staff .The Heads of Divisions have been directed to keep close interaction with the State Administration, if required , to make available such safety gears”.

But we feel that the picture is something different in Odisha Circle which has already been countered by us separately vide our letter No. No. P3NFPE-Odisha/05 - 04/2020, dated 08.04.2020. (Copy attached for ready reference)

As such, you are requested to take up the case with your Divisional / Unit Head and pursue for immediate sanitization of the Post Offices in the  lockdown/shutdown areas and containment zones of your respective Division / Unit.

Respected Sir,

While thanking you for your immediate response on the matter, it is regretted that no Divisional / Unit  Head is expediting the sanitization work for which we are compelled to bring it to the notice of the Circle office time and again.

Illustratively, as known to this Circle Union, Post Offices / Departmental buildings situated in the containment zones of Bhubaneswar namely Bomikhal, Suryanagar, Madhusudan Nagar, BJB Nagar, Goutam Nagar and Satyanagar have not yet been sanitized. We will be happy if reports from the SSPOs, Bhubaneswar Division and the Superintendent PSD / CSD are called for in this regard.

Similar is the situation in other lockdown/shutdown areas and containment zones of the State.

As such, it is requested kindly to ask for detailed reports regarding undertaking of sanitization works from the concerned Divisional / Unit heads in this regard to contain spread of COVID-19 since we feel it extremely important.  

A line of reply on the nature of action taken is highly solicited.
