NEW DELHI: The postal department of the telecom
ministry announced postal life insurance scheme for professionals and employees
of listed companies.
"Postal department has offered the least premium and the most bonus, even when compared to the LIC of India," telecom minister Manoj Sinha said Friday.
"Till now it was limited to government employees and allied sectors, while now it will be expanded to professionals, engineers, doctors and to employees of companies listed with the National Stock Exchange," he added.
While the facility is not available for all citizens of the country, the minister said that the expanded the purview of the scheme to encompass more people.
