Dear Teams,
During the past two weeks, many SOLs have complained on excess recovery during SCSS account closure. Patch was deployed on 18/02/2022, to prevent closure of accounts with incorrect reason codes; however some of the SOLs are facing issue due to system settings and in some cases, incorrect selection of closure reason code. It is kindly requested to circulate the instructions shared in trail mail to all SOLs so as to avoid issues in closure for SCSS Scheme. This is in addition to SB Order No. 29/2021 dtd 13.10.2021 (SCSS Death Claim Closure).
Please instruct all SOLs to follow the steps for SCSS closure:
- Clear cookies & session cache in order to ensure settings from latest patch gets applied to the system.
- Ensure correct reason code is entered in Closure Reason Code. Applicable reason code is automatically populated for NORML/AB2/BT1 cases; SOL user should use proper code when these three codes are not applicable. Closure reason codes and applicable scenarios are given below. In addition to these codes, TRFBK can be used when an SCSS account is getting transferred to another bank.
- Before clicking submit in Closure Details tab, ensure that 'Collect Penal Fee flag' is No for accounts getting closed after one year. This flag should be Yes only in the case of closure before one year from the date of opening or date of extension.
