As you know, Sj. Ananta Narayan Nanda, Hon'ble Secretary(Posts) visited Sahidnagar MDG on 20.07.2019 accompanied with Dr. Santosh Kumar Kamila, Hon'ble Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle, Sj. G. Gurunathan, Hon'ble Director Postal Service, Headquarters Region, Bhubaneswar and Sj. Satyabadi Biswal, Hon'ble SSPOs, Bhubaneswar Division for a plantation programme organized by the staff members of Sahidnagar MDG.
After the programme was over, in an informal discussion with the Hon'ble Secretary, this Circle Secretary proposed the Secretary (Posts) to enhance the quantum of financial assistance to staff members. As suggested by all the officers present including the Chief PMG, we have given the following proposal.

for enhancement of Financial Assistance from Circle Welfare Fund.
Respected Sir,
We
came to know that Odisha Circle has finalized a list
1741 Departmental Employees and 1568 GDSs for grant of financial assistance at
the rate of Rs.4500/- and Rs.5000/- respectively which has been submitted to
the Director (Welfare & Sports), Department of Posts, Dak Bhawan, New Delhi
– 110 001 for sanction of the estimated amount of Rs.1, 56, 74,500/- by the
Directorate for payment to the employees of Odisha Circle affected in the
recent cyclonic storm ‘Fani’ on 03.05.2019.
But considering the quantum loss
sustained by the employees on one hand and high inflation in the market price
now on the other, the above amounts seem to be too meager.
Therefore, we would like to request
you to kindly reconsider for 100% enhancement of the present amount of
Financial Assistance, i.e. Rs.9000/- for Departmental Employees and Rs.10000/-
for GDSs.
An early action in the matter is
highly solicited.
