One day dharna programme in front of RO, Sambalpur concluded successfully on 24.02.2020

After continuous discussion and correspondences with the authorities 
specially with the Suerintendant of Post Offices, Sambalpur Division and PMG, Sambalpur Region, the basic rights of the employee towards 4settlement of general welfare issues of employees which are required to be discussed in the monthly union meeting to be held regularly was straightaway denied by the Supdt. Of Post Offices, Sambalpur as a result of which the members of AIPEU, Sambalpur Division were compelled to issue Notice on 24/01/2020 to organize one day dharna on 24/02/2020. But During this one month neither the divisional administration nor the regional administration took it seriously and did not come for a negotiated settlement of the issues for which the members of Sambalpur Division were compelled to organize the Dharna Program in front of the Divisional Office / Regional Office, Sambalpur to pressurize the local administration to adhere to the rules and regulations in force by the Directorate towards conducting the monthly union meeting and other issues raised in the 6 point charter of demands.

More than 30 members came from all over the Odisha, from different divisions to participate in the Dharna and to extend solidarity to the members of Sambalpur Division. 

While Sri Kunja Bihari Dash,Ex-Circle Financial Secretary presided over the programme, Sri Bruhaspati Samal, Circle Secretary AIPEU Gr-C Odisha Circle-cum-Chairman NFPE, Odisha State CoC led the Dharana Programme. In addition, Sri M.C.S. Rao, Circle Secretary, Postman and MTS Odisha Circle was also present in the Dharana Programme with his representatives.

 The Dharana Programme was also addressed by Com. Maheswar Sandha, District Secretary, CITU Sambalpur, Com. Gokul Member, Dy. General Secretary, HMS,  Com. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Working President, HMS and Com. R K Mohanty District President, AITUC. 

Addressing the gathering, the leaders expressed that if their genuine demands are not settled within a specified  period of time, the union will be compelled to go for an indefinite strike, for which the Divisional / Regional will be held responsible.
